Founded around 1851 this course has developed considerably over the years and has hosted the prestigious “open championship” on numerous occasions.
Prestwick golf club does accommodate day visitors however owing to the quality of the facility a more formal dress code is required.

St Nicholas Golf Club,
Is a traditional links course and historians show it was founded in the mid 1800’s,
As with most Ayrshire courses it is very technical in nature with deep sandy bunkers and a stiff southerly breeze to challenge the best the sport has to offer.

St Cuthbert Golf Club,
This is one of the more modern clubs in Prestwick, and is one of the few Ayrshire courses located slightly more inland, with a slight difference in terrain offering the additional challenge of wooded and large foliage areas,
And has developed a niche in the county and club championship areas.
